Joseph Hyer is an award Associated Press and Emmy Award winning reporter and news producer.
Graduating in December 2011 from Emerson College in Boston, Joseph holds a Bachelors of Science in Broadcast Journalism. Joseph has worked as a freelance reporter for several Patch sites across the region since December 2010. He has been a "go-to-guy" for weather based coverage, from winter storms to Patch's coverage of Hurricane Irene.
Joseph is a true Jersey Shore native. He grew up in Beachwood and currently resides in Lanoka Harbor. He is a 2008 graduate from Toms River High School South.
During his time at Emerson College, he served as the Executive News Producer for the Associated Press Award winning, EIV NEWS LIVE @ 9. The program has won both the New England Emmy Award for Best College Newscast and the Associated Press Award for Best College Newscast. He has also served as the executive producer of EIV News @ 6, and worked as a reporter, weather forecaster, and assignment editor for the organization.
He has co-hosted over 100 episodes of highly-rated pop-culture radio show on ETIN and has written for the school's newspaper the, Berkeley Beacon.
