The Throckmorton Ridge station was rebuilt in 2006 and has won awards for architecture and energy efficiency. It is manned by two firefighters in the winter and four in the summer.

The district also provides paramedic service to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Muir Beach, and the Muir Woods National Monument, and a regional rescue unit that serves all of the above areas, the Tiburon peninsula, and the Golden Gate Bridge area.</p>
