Yes absoltely and by the way we pick up trash and walk in a shopping cart on our way in to theRead More store.
LEXMINMAN May 13, 2014 at 07:43 am
I constantly pick up trash on our street and if i am walking some people do not care are they lazyRead More ,slobs,or inconsiderate back to the subject yes they should ban styrofoam there are many other choices we have that are biodegradable
John Tips June 11, 2014 at 10:15 am
We never liked Styrofoam containers! Paper and cardboard cups, and containers at least deteriorateRead More with time, while Styrofoam lasts for decades! Enforcement of law by police for littering would also help diminish the environmental pollution on our fields and roadways as well! Illinois would be wise to pass legislation which would begin a returnable deposit on bottles, cans, and containers!

I have found if you have the right stuff for sale it doesn't matter what day of the week you haveRead More the sale......its how well you advertise, place signs that you pick up each day at the end of the sale. We've done quite well in a child moving out and then downsizing. You don't expect to sell $100 + items unless you advertise them on craigslist first.
Mikey's Mom April 14, 2014 at 11:45 am
I like going out to yard sales more than holding them although we do at least twice a year. MyRead More boyfriend is great at finding deals (more expensive items) and then flipping them, that's pretty awesome! I enjoy the early mornings out together, coffee, meeting new people and sometimes coming across something really cool, like my angel bell. I've never heard of bookoo.com Stephanie P, gonna look into that for selling : ) thanks!

Don't know about this BRAND - but health food stores sell coconut butter, which is very tasty onRead More toast. Some of you "commenters" need to check facts...

Andrew You just don't get it. I benefit far more from money spent on Parks and Open Space thanRead More money spent on Health and Human Services. This isn't about my chosen profession but about how we use our tax money.
Andrew R March 13, 2013 at 05:02 pm
no, I think we all "get it." You want more govt. money (tax payer $) spent on yourRead More profession, not on others. Got it. Loud and clear. Govt spending on Parks and Open space spending gives us freedom and enjoyment. Govt spending on Health and Human Services spending gives you an income (whether it directly or indirectly, see AIG example). The point being, you like to use these pages as your personal blog to push your own partisan and political interests. You are just upset that this is a glaring example of it.

The question is this: What has Eric Lucan done for Novato? Nothing. He was a one trick pony whenRead More he ran---and only for pension reform which he has done nothing about. Pathetic.
Eleanor Sluis February 23, 2013 at 10:38 pm
Yes, and thanks to the City Council for honoring them and to the Novato Streetscape commission forRead More supporting San Marin in their endeavor. Such a positive event for the residents of Novato. I applaud you.
Sylvia Barry February 24, 2013 at 02:11 pm
Thanks to San Marin science teacher, Dr. Michelle Lafevre-Bernt, aka Dr. L-B, for leading theRead More students on this project. San Marin high science students and Dr. L-B have since been back to Miwok Park for clean up work after the initial installation of the garden; which is another important part of the project.

StevieB. I don't work there and actually have never been in to on. I do know that the owner livesRead More in Novato and have heard through a few that he is a good guy and seems ot have a good repuation. Considering he is willing to pony up dough in these still very trying times I see nothing wrong with his company benefiting from it. Or perhaps you should ink a check from your Bank of Altruism. By the way if corporate sponsors and public space shouldn't mix, as you say, why do you propose that Gary Fischer or Marin Bikes should be allowed to?
Jennifer Martin February 28, 2013 at 03:06 am
Steve - I don't work at Mike's Bikes currently but my husband does. We have lived in Novato forRead More almost 12 years and we do what we can to support the local community. In regards to customer service, if you or someone you know had an experience at Mike's that left a bad taste, I'd suggest that you give them the chance to make it right. Every business makes its share of mistakes but when brought to the attention of the folks at Mike's, they will do everything within their power to fix it. The money MB stepped up to donate was a sponsorship, not an exchange for advertisement. It's common practice to recognize large sponsors. My children will ride on those trails along with their friends and many of the other children in Novato; that, and the promotion of the healthy, fun and accessible sport of mountain biking is why Mike's Bikes ponied up for the sponsorship. The project is awaiting other sponsors like Mike's and I hope they show up soon so that we can all get out there and ride.

Let me see if I got this right. We have a dump full of trash, we're filling it with garbage fromRead More other counties, and the locals don't like it and don't want it to expand. They're using the usual environmental tools to stop it, but we know we have to put that garbage somewhere. Are you sure we're not talking about affordable housing? Think about it. When I was poor, I lived in a dump. If people want to live in Marin without having to pay for it, they have to start somewhere. The location is good, as it has it's own exit, it's close to transportation (SMART tracks run next to it, the auto wrecking yard where cranksters get their disposable cars is right across the street, and we could put in a bus pad), and the usual NYMBYs can't complain about it affecting their home values. After the tin foil hat tree hungers fail to find a salamander (pray they don't find an arrowhead or we'll get a casino) we can start building soon.

Solid idea! And the AF gets free power from the methane that dump releases 24/7/365. They just burnRead More it now, ever seen those metal columns spewing gigawatts of power into the sky?
Will Lamers February 19, 2013 at 05:53 pm
