Soooooo, all the so-called environmentalists who don't like people burning wood for heat in the…Read More winter and call the woods "carbon sinks" now might be getting a taste of reality... If you don't let forests burn naturally, don't clean forests, and think the forests won't burn someday/ somehow and all the while try to eliminate woodstoves and the like for environmental/ health reasons... Well, you get the point, guess what, we are now breathing particulate matter in the hot summer instead of in the rainy, self-cleansing winter. DUH!!! Let people clean their lands so they are not so hazardous in the summer! Put the BAAQMD on a leash or dismantle the hypocritical organization!

I couldn't agree more, Larry. That so many residents feel compelled to get into their cars so often…Read More in our most walk-friendly city is one of the unsolved mysteries of life in Mill Valley. All that driving kids short distances to school each morning is crushing to commuters. Maybe we could introduce this good idea to our middle and high schools? With all the construction scheduled on our two arteries, gridlock's a common', and taking a proactive stance early could help a lot. Thanks!

I took the snapshot. I almost didn't... but then I thought, hmmm... 21st century transparency means…Read More community accountability. You can no longer act like this and be immune from your actions. There isn't much expectation of privacy in a public lot, in a state tagged car, in the middle of the day. When she popped out, she asked "Can I help you?". I just laughed and went on my way.
It's good the license was blocked - I wouldn't have been ok with that. It's also cool they didn't run the second picture, the one with the woman who at first acted haughty and offensive, who then realized the watchful eyes of the community begs accountability.
Maybe not... she was probably too into herself to care.
But I always think it's funny when people are so paranoid about the government being big brother... they can't tie their shoes, let alone process all that data that sits in piles of paper and hard drives for years.....
Big Brother is us. We're big brother, and we're the people we warned ourselves about. If civil liberties are intact while privacy further erodes, meaning general accountability for scofflaws, criminals, idiots, thieves, unethical jerks, etc.... well... that's a dialogue we should have before it's too late.
Oops. Too late.
