A tried-and-true local favorite, the Cantina reopened in September 2010. Chef José Luís Barba, who ran the kitchen for the original Mill Valley Cantina 27 years ago, is back behind the stove, so excellent Cal-Mex fare is still on the menu. The location offers numerous weekly specials made from local and sustainable ingredients when possible. The location also offers a happy hour and has numerous local or imported Mexican beers as well as the Cantina's famous margaritas, poured daily with fresh-squeezed lime juice and genuine Mexican tequila.
