World Cup Soccer Articles Just for Kids - ALL EYES ON BRAZIL 2014

Award-winning kids magazine on world cultures, FACES, spotlights the World Cup, and includes articles by local children's writer Colette Weil Parrinello.

Check out FACES magazine for articles just for your soccer fans, 9 years and older!

The author, Colette Weil Parrinello, is part of an avid Mill Valley soccer family. So it was natural as a children’s writer that she write about soccer for the May/June 2014 World Cup issue of FACES kids magazine. She wrote the cover story “Training the World’s Next Stars” an inside peek at youth football academies, along with three additional articles; When the Cup Comes to Town a critical look at what really happens when a country hosts the World Cup, Growing Up: In a Football Academy a profile of three 14 year-old academy athletes, andTop Players to Watch” a highlight of five of the hottest young professionals you’ll likely see at the Cup.

Sports and soccer are in her family’s DNA. Her husband played soccer at the University of San Francisco, and coached and managed their kids’ teams. Their two kids, now adults, were raised on Marin’s Dave Fromer Soccer starting at age 5, played Club, Select, and ODP (Olympic Development Program) through high school. They attended innumerable soccer camps and programs in the U.S. and abroad. Their son played for the University of Rochester and now plays in the San Francisco men’s league. Plus the family has traveled to the World Cup and European championships to attend games in other countries.

Colette is a children’s writer of magazine articles and eco-adventure stories, and is co-regional advisor for the non-profit organization, Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, San Francisco North & East Bay Region.
