1. Monday Night at the Movies "The Man in the White Suite"

The Man in the White Suit is a satirical comedy, filmed in 1951.  It stars Alec Guiness as an altruistic chemist determined to invent a a fabric that resists both wear and stain.  Both labor and business realize the financial implications.

2. Common Core Town Hall with Q&A

395 Doherty Drive, Larkspur

Come to a joint town hall hosted by Think Marin and Assemblymember Marc 
Levine to learn more about the Common Core standards and how the new 
standards are affecting Marin. There will be a panel of experts ready to 
discuss the issue. Audio in Spanish will be available for interested 
guests. The town hall will be located in the Kreps Conference Center at 
Redwood High School. 

The event is open to the public. Parents and teachers are encouraged to attend.

Join us for a screening of Connected followed by a Q&A with local director and mom Tiffany Shlain. This eye-opening and inspiring film takes audiences on an exhilarating roller coaster ride to discover what it means to be connected in the 21st century.

Event sponsored by The Southern Marin Mother's Club (SMMC) together with Speak to Me. Doors open at 6:30. Film begins at 7:00.

4. Mort Sahl - Comedy - Biting, Incisive Social Satire

Crowned as leading the new breed of modern comedians by Time magazine in 1960, Mort Sahl was the first entertainer ever to appear on its cover.  Before comedy clubs existed, Sahl began performing at the hungry i music club in San Francisco in the early 1950s. He differed from other comedians, appearing in casual clothing rather than a suit, skewing popular politicians such as Eisenhower, Joe McCarthy and JFK.
