Buckelew Taps Fabia Butler to Head Board

Bank of Marin exec helms board for nonprofit organization that assists adults and young people with mental health and substance use disorders in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties

Fabia Butler of Mill Valley has been tapped by Buckelew Programs in San Rafael to head its board of directors. Butler, the advertising and communications manager for Bank of Marin, joined the Buckelew board in 2007.

Buckelew assists adults and young people with mental health and substance use disorders in Marin, Sonoma and Napa counties. The nonprofit organization offers clinical programs and also operates three businesses for which it employs clients, including Blue Skies Coffees & Tea in San Rafael, Blue Skies Cleaning Service and People’s Harvest in Petaluma.

In addition to Butler, the slate of Buckelew's board members includes: Vice President Marcia Antipa of Kentfield, Secretary Judi McCord of San Rafael and Treasurer Dan Waters of Novato, Joan Blum, Marion de Heer, Deborah McLeran, Stan Moore, Pamela Romoli, Dennis Ryan, Jack Scott and Walter Stone.

Butler said in a statement that she strongly believes in the bank's mission of giving back to the community and is passionate about supporting Buckelew programs.

"I'm thrilled to be involved with two such well respected, community-minded organizations, Buckelew Programs and Bank of Marin,” Butler said. “As president of the Buckelew Board, I hope to bring more of our services to those in our community with complex needs so they can lead healthy, productive lives."
