FRANCIS HA is Smile Therapy!

I got a second wind after work last Thursday. My secret: a 10 minute neck and shoulder massage from Molly at Rosemary Spa, next to Starbucks on Shoreline. She has strong hands and a healing touch! Newly rejuvenated, I regained energy to go to the Bob Dylan birthday tribute at The Sweetwater that night! The Ghosts of Electricity gave their ALL to playing Dylan songs. They were in the ZONE! Guitarist Mark Karan gave me a kiss on my cheek during the intermission. Maybe he knew I started this blog that morning and so his kiss made it an even more memorable day! I danced so hard that I had to take a hot epsom salt bath just to get up and go to work the next morning. Thank God it was Friday, and a three-day weekend was awaiting! Now it's Memorial Day and I send thanks to all those service people who sacrificed for this beautiful country. Yesterday I saw the new movie FRANCIS HA at the Sundance Kabuki Theatre in San Francisco. The scene where Francis runs, jumps, and leaps through the streets of New York made me grin from ear to ear for several minutes. When is the last time you saw a movie that made you truly deeply SMILE for many minutes? THIS MOVIE IS ALL ABOUT THAT KIND OF JOY and ANGST. Greta Gerwig is funny and just so much fun to watch! The movie has made it to the 10 Best Movies of This Summer lists, and I whole-heartedly agree! QUICK EPIPHANY: It's not just 27 year olds that go through awkward periods of limbo and uncertainty... I think we all go through these types of changes all life long. And if you have any doubt about it, watch Dr. Lissa Rankin's video on You Tube about how she found her calling. It's done by The Good Life Project. Very inspiring. The stories we tell ourselves about our lives will make a difference.
