Johnson crossed the finish line in 1 hour, 12 minutes and 31 seconds last year, winning by seven seconds. Last Saturday, Johnson and her parents Wendy and Hal were on hand to mark the installation of the plaque on the third flight of Dipsea Stairs to honor her achievement.

“I’m very excited to have my name on the stairs,” Johnson said. “It was very exciting because it was the 100th and I was the youngest ever to win.”

Key to Awesomeness: Johnson held off perennial contender Melody-Ann Schultz of Ross by a mere seven seconds last year. “I’m a very fast sprinter,” she said. “So I figured I could probably outsprint her if I had to."
