Wanted: Your Signature on Our Sports Page

Mill Valley Patch would like to tell your sports stories, and it's hired me to narrate.

I'm Dave Del Grande, Sports Editor of Mill Valley Patch. I hope to get to know you.

That said, it's quite possible we've already met. I was in the bleachers during the bomb scare that got the Tam gym condemned, on the sidelines the day Marin Catholic High reinstated football, and in the folding chairs the season San Marin made its Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) basketball debut.

Yep, that was me who pitched that great game against mighty Marinwood in the Marin Little League All-Star tournament (great for Marinwood, that is -- we lost 10-0), who played for Redwood in the first NCS basketball championships (and missed the free throw that probably cost us the title), and who beat out Mike Moroski for the Italian Athletic Club's annual college scholarship (yet somehow Moroski is in the Marin High School Athletic Hall of Fame and I'm not -- go figure).

But enough about me. Mill Valley Patch is about you ... and your family, your neighbors, even your ex-classmates. We've come to Mill Valley to uncover all its great sports stories.

As we speak, I'm working on one about a Mill Valley soccer mom who is flying 1,500 miles this week to catch up with her son who's a star player 3,000 miles away.
