Got Dipsea fever yet?

With the 103rd edition of the Dipsea Race set for Sunday, June 9, a film about one of the most spectacular races in Dipsea history screens for free at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night at the Mill Valley Public Library.

The Dipsea Movie, by filmmaker Sam Lueck, chronicles the 100th annual Dipsea in June 2010, when 8-year-old Tam Valley resident Reilly Johnson squared off with 68-year-old grandmother and three-time Dipsea winner Melody-Anne Schultz of Ross in a start-to-finish battle, with Johnson becoming the youngest Dipsea winner ever.

It also delves into the Dipsea's storied history, as well as its brutal, 7.5-mile course and the devotion it incites in its participants.

Lueck will introduce the film and will answer questions after the screening.
