Tam's Rieger Nabs First-Team MCAL Golf Honor
Senior is one of four Red-tailed Hawks to earn all-league distinction, joining second-teamers Tucker Nichols and Chris Byrns and Honorable Mention choice Ethan Young.
's Ari Rieger, an Honorable Mention selection to the All-Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) golf team each of the past two seasons, capped a superb senior season by gaining first-team honors in a vote of the coaches announced Monday.
Rieger was the lone Tam representative on the first team, but three of his teammates also got the attention of MCAL coaches.
Sophomore Tucker Nichols made it 2-for-2 on the All-MCAL second team, joining fellow Red-tailed Hawk Chris Byrns in that recognition, while Ethan Young was placed on the Honorable Mention list.

Branson's Greg Mroz was a double-winner in the balloting, earning the league's Player of the Year honors as well as claiming the MCAL Bobby Jones Sportsmanship Award.
Joining Rieger on the All-MCAL first team for 2011 were Marin Catholic's Sean Beradi and AJ Martinez, Justin-Siena's Thomas McLendon and Jack Wilson, and Branson's Carl Sennett.
