Slideshow: Charles McGlashan Memorial Bike Ride

Cyclists from all over Marin joined together for a bike ride in honor of the late Charles McGlashan last week. Check out some photos from the event, courtesy of the Marin County Bicycle Coaltion.

More than 100 people participated in the memorial ride for the last Friday, riding from the Sunday Farmers Market lot at the Civic Center in San Rafael down to on Miller Avenue in Mill Valley.

The group included , along with Mill Valley Councilmembers Shawn Marshall and Garry Lion, San Rafael Councilmen Greg Brockbank, airfax Mayor Larry Bragman and Supervisor Steve Kinsey. 

The event was hosted by the Marin County Bicycle Coalition, which sought to honor McGlashan's life and legacy in conjunction with Earth Day. The coalition hailed McGlashan's avid support for the (SMART) and the county's Nonmotorized Transportation Pilot Program, as well as increases in bicycling as indicated in a recent report released by the County of Marin.

The 12-mile ride featured several stops along the way, including the San Rafael side of the and the Mill Valley Bike Path.
