Rothlind Named MCAL Girls Soccer Player of the Year

MCAL Playoffs champ Tam also places Storie Ledger and Nicole Henderson on the all-league first team, while Caitlin Firmage earns an Honorable Mention distinction.

As a second- and first-team all-leaguer the past two seasons, 's knew she was moving up into the elite of Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) girls soccer players.

In 2011, the senior was no longer just among those stars. She was on top of them.

Rothlind was selected as the Player of the Year in the MCAL's announcement of its all-league teams earlier this week.

Tam, the MCAL Playoffs champion, also had three other players honored: and on the first team and on the Honorable Mention list.

Ledger, like Rothlind a senior, was honored for the third consecutive year. The forward had been an Honorable Mention selection as a sophomore and junior.

Henderson, a junior defender, had been a second-team pick last season.

Joining Ledger and Henderson on the All-MCAL first team were forwards Kelly Groves of Redwood and Alana Shaw of Branson, midfielders Madison Tye of Terra Linda, Olivia Do of Redwood, Darcy McFarlane of Branson and Kayla Coffee of San Rafael, defenders Kristi Cascio and Clare Renk of Marin Catholic and Zoe Trutner of Redwood, and goalie Rachel Mehr of San Marin.
