, the director of Mt. Tam Bikes Camp, purchased the six-door limousine pictured above on Craigslist last year. The camp needed to expand their fleet of bike-totting vehicles and he thought that a limo would be fun for the kids.
"I started searching for the right car, which I found in Southern California," he says. "Adding the rear rack was easy but designing and installing the custom roof rack was a lot of work."
Loften, who has been running the camp for six years, takes the limo and riders all over Marin, from Mount Tam to China Camp to Tamarancho.
"The car makes people smile everywhere we go and the campers love it," he says. "We are constantly getting double takes, dropped jaws and folks stopping to take pictures. It is really fun to drive a car that makes people happy."
