Using the mind to control your muscles, Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms and back. The mat work is a great place to begin. The mat exercises are adaptable to any fitness level, and it’s nice to focus on learning the basics correctly without having to get friendly with new exercise equipment at the same time. The mat exercises will help you quickly gain a lot of strength and confidence in the Pilates method. All you need is a mat and a good attitude!
