City Council Honors Mill Valley Little League Champs

Being the first Mill Valley teams at either the 10-year old or l l-year old level to win a Sectional Tournament and advance to Divisional play, the City Council honored their achievements at the Sept. 16 meeting.

The City Council honored at the Mill Valley Little League at last night’s meeting for a history-making season, being the first Mill Valley teams at either the 10-year old or l l-year old level to win a Sectional Tournament and advance to Divisional play.

League All-stars in the 10-year old, II-year old, and Junior divisions were congratulated for having an “amazing 2013 season”, bringing home several titles.

“I take great pride in congratulating the Mill Valley Little League All-stars on their tremendous achievements in the 2013 season,” Mayor Andrew Berman stated, “Play ball!”

The three teams earned the top in the California District 3 Allstar Tournament Championship, winning first place in a league comprised in both Marin and San Francisco Counties.

The 10-year old and the ll-year old teams then went on to win the California Section 1 Championship, thereby advancing to compete at the Division Level; and

The City of Mill Valley honors the skill, hardwork and dedication of the players, coaches, team managers and parents that made possible the high level of competition from all three teams.
