Boys Hoops: Hawks Can't Catch Terra Linda

Strong play in the fourth quarter, led by Jordan Bolli-Thompson, gives Tam a chance, but Trojans quell the comeback.

TUESDAY'S SCORE: Terra Linda 49, 46.

TAM'S RECORD: 4-12 overall, 0-4 in MCAL.

GAME SUMMARY: Down by just one point at the half, the Tam High boys basketball team was in good shape to grab its first Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) win Tuesday night.

But the Red-tailed Hawks let their guard down, as Terra Linda tacked on six to its lead entering the fourth quarter. Trailing by eight with just five minutes left, Tam played with emotion and purpose.

The Hawks arguably played their best basketball of the season late in the fourth quarter. With 1:25 left on the clock, Tam had clawed back to get within one.

Despite sinking all of their fourth quarter free throws and getting nine points from senior , the Hawks could not overcome Terra Linda, failing to complete two long baseball passes from in the waning seconds.

REACTION: “I am proud of the effort the boys made tonight. They were executing the plays fantastic, and we ran [the final play of the game] well. We ran it well in practice, too, but not with a 6-foot-10 athletic kid (Terra Linda center Mike Best) on the floor.” – Tam coach .
