All Four Mill Valley All-Star Baseball Teams Still Alive

Bill Lampl's 11-12 squad needs a last-night upset to survive pool play, enters quarterfinals Saturday; the unbeaten Junior Division stars are top-seeded headed into the semifinals at Alto Field.

Needing a victory over a tough Tiburon team in order to qualify for single-elimination play in the District 3 Little League All-Star Tournament Thursday night, the Mill Valley 11-12’s squad came through with its best effort of pool play, shocking the previously unbeaten team to earn a spot in Saturday’s quarterfinals.

In fact, all four Mill Valley entrants in the District 3 event have advanced to Saturday’s action, including the league’s Junior Division All-Stars, who are the top seed among the four semifinalists that will square off Saturday at Alto Field in Mill Valley.

Will Muir belted two home runs (one a grand slam) among three hits, scored three times and drove in six runs in the 11-12’s 13-4 stay-alive win over Tiburon. Joe Levin pitched the first four innings for Mill Valley, giving up only two hits.
