Tam Students Answer: 'Before I Die I Want To ... '

Inspired by a TED Talk, students created a chalkboard wall on campus that asked the question. The responses will blow you away.

What’s on your bucket list?

That was a journal topic presented to a Tam High 10th grade class, which prompted them to watch a TED talk by Candy Chang, a New Orleans artist who turned an abandoned house into a giant chalkboard asking the fill-in-the-blank questions: “Before I die I want to _____.”

Inspired by the idea, students built their own chalkboard wall on the high school campus, which came to life on May 7. It's featured on the Before I Die website, which includes similar projects from around the world.

Here's what some of the Tam High students had to say:

“Before I die I want to save the whales.”

“Before I die I want to walk at high school graduation.”

“Before I die I want to see equality.”

“Before I die I want to swim with a mermaid.”

“Before I die I want to make something worth living for.”

“Before I die I want to give my love a million kisses.”

“Before I die I want to find a way to bring kindness to all.”
