Tam High Set for Homecoming Saturday

Football games, crowing of a king and queen and fundraiser for Project Night Night headline festivities.

welcomes its alumni back to campus Saturday with the annual Homecoming festivities, a packed lineup of events that includes a quartet of football games – both traditional and of the powderpuff variety – along with the crowning of a king and queen, a school dance and a fundraiser for an organization designed to assist children dealing with homelessness.

On the heels of this week’s spirit days in which students dressed up around specific themes, Homecoming kicks off Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with the freshman football team taking on Terra Linda High, followed by the JV game at 11:30 a.m. and the varsity game at 2 p.m.

Despite consecutive losses and a 41-0 drubbing at the hands of Marin Catholic last Saturday, Tam’s varsity squad comes into its Homecoming showdown against Terra Linda with a winning record, both overall (5-3) and in Marin County Athletic League (MCAL) play.

Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at halftime of the varsity game, and the varsity game will be followed by a Powderpuff football game featuring the junior girls against the senior girls.

During all three Saturday football games, Tam High Boosters plan to collect funds for Project Night Night, an organization that puts together canvas bags filled with a blanket, stuffed animal and age appropriate book and then donates them to shelters across the country. Project Night Night's hope is that these bags will help ease the anxiety and emotional needs of children who find themselves living in unfamiliar surroundings.
