Public Input Meeting for Park and Strawberry Point School Modernization
Back-to-back meetings will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the design phase input on the facilities modernization project.
A meeting to allow public input on the design development phase for the Park and Strawberry Point will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
In 2011, a site committee at both Park and Strawberry Point Schools worked with architects and developed the Schematic Design for modernization. The Board of Trustees approved these Schematic Designs at the June 22, 2011 Board meeting.
Mill Valley School District is inviting the public to attend these evening meetings to give input on the Design Development Documents for Park and Strawberry Point Schools.
Schematic Design:
This first phase in the project design has been completed; this is where the project team prepares initial diagrams and drawings giving a general view of the components and the scale of the project after detailed discussions with District staff, site committees, and the community. Design Development:
In this phase the project team prepares, from the approved Schematic Design, the Design Development documents consisting of drawings and other documents to fix and describe the size and character of the entire project as to structural, mechanical and electrical systems, materials and such other essentials as may be appropriate. The project team also submits an estimate of probable construction cost.
The Design Development phase is the last opportunity for design input from the user groups.
