Kindergarten Registration Kicks Off January 14

Here's everything you need to know about signing up your child for kindergarten.

The following is from the Mill Valley School District:

Kindergarten registration for the 2013-2014 school year kicks off January 14 and ends on February 11. Stop by the Mill Valley School District Office at 411 Sycamore Ave, located adjacent to the Mill Valley Middle School entrance.

Registration Dates:

  • Mon, Jan. 14; 1 - 7 p.m. 
  • Thu, Jan. 17; 1 - 7 p.m.
  • Thu, Feb. 7; 1 - 7 p.m.
  • Mon, Feb. 11; 1 - 7 p.m.  

A child is eligible for public school kindergarten if he/she will be 5-years-old on or before October 1, 2013. Information about Transitional Kindergarten 2013/14.

What to Bring Checklist:

  • An original or certified (county seal) birth certificate or passport.
  • 3 original (will be immediately copied and returned) proofs of your residency in Mill Valley. Three different types of proof of residency within the Mill Valley School District boundaries are required when registering a student for school. The three proofs must be from the following seven categories, with no more than ONE from any category. Original documents presented at the District Office will be copied and returned to resident. The following documents are acceptable proofs of residency:
    • Recent property tax bill that contains evidence of Homeowner’s Exemption
    • Current, dated rental/lease agreement showing the address with lessor-lessee-realtor names and signatures; and contact information. If agreement is month-to-month or has expired, a current extension from the landlord is required.
    • Current California driver’s license or California identification card indicating residence address within district boundaries. If a P.O. box is used, DMV verification of residency is required.
    • Public assistance documents.
    • Employment record, e.g. recent payroll stub, if address indicated o Recent homeowner’s or renter’s insurance documents.
    • Utility bills indicating residence address and dated within 60 days of registration. Acceptable bills include:
      • PG&E
      • Marin Municipal Water District
      • Mill Valley Refuse/Tamalpais Community Services District / or other local refuse agency serving residences within district boundaries
      • Comcast (cable TV) / Direct TV
      • Land line telephone (cell and long-distance service not accepted)
      • Public assistance documents.
      • Employment record, e.g. recent payroll stub, if address indicated o Recent homeowner’s or renter’s insurance documents.
  • A TB test. Required ONLY if your family is moving to Mill Valley from countries in Asia,
    the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, or the Pacific Islands. The test must have been administered upon arrival in the United States. Written proof of a negative test result will be required before the child can start school.
  • Kindergarten Registration Forms. Required forms are available online and available on registration days at the District Office.

Please note: Your child cannot be registered unless he/she is a current resident of the Mill Valley School District and we have received all of the documents listed above.

What Angelina did was her choice, based on the multi-billion dollar per cancer industry, and by the people that like do unnecessary surgeries to line their pockets. Ask one of those male doctors if he is willing to have his testicles removed "just in case" he might get testicular cancer in the future. I'll bet that they would laugh at anyone who proposed that question. There are many ways that people can take care of their bodies to prevent cancer, like taking vitamin D, magnesium, selenium, turmeric and many more anti-inflammatory herbs. Also diet and environmental factors play a role in the pre-disposition to get cancer. In most cases, genes only play about a 5% role in a chance of inheriting or contracting cancer. But this big business of cancer research doesn't want hear about anything else besides expensive pharmaceutical drugs and surgery, anything else would threaten their business model. This post is a test of the new Patch commenting system.

And by the way, if you don't port over the comments about the transgender shower sharing article that I glanced at last night, you will be doing all of us a favor !
