Introduction to Rainwater Harvesting

Taught by experts from the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA), this one-day introductory workshop is perfect for homeowners, do-it-yourselfers, and anyone interested in general knowledge about rainwater harvesting.

This course provides an overview of rainwater harvesting history, methods and applications, including concepts and techniques for uses such as landscape irrigation and wildlife management. Participants will be introduced to the concepts and techniques for harvesting rain passively in rain gardens, green roofs and proper landscape design, as well as the use of more complex active systems using a catchment container. Rain simulation and a simple rainfall harvesting system are used to reinforce concepts. References for further study are provided.
