Video: A Celebration of Charles McGlashan

Late Marin County Supervisor, who died March 27 at the age of 49, is hailed by family, friends and political allies as a bold, visionary leader who lived life to the fullest.

Hundreds of family, friends and political colleagues gathered at the Marin Center Veterans Memorial Auditorium Saturday morning to celebrate the life of former Marin County Supervisor and Mill Valley resident Charles McGlashan, who  at age 49.

McGlashan's brothers Bill and Doug began the event with fond memories of their younger brother, who they called "Chuckie." A host of political allies celebrated McGlashan's legacy, from Supervisor Susan Adams and Rep. Lynn Woolsey (fresh off an overnight flight after a last-minute deal to avert a shutdown of the federal government Friday) to State Sen. Mark Leno and Mill Valley City Councilwoman Shawn Marshall, who was with McGlashan in the North Lake Tahoe area.

The event was concluded by , and then by environmental visionary Paul Hawken.

In lieu of flowers, McGlashan's family has asked that donations in his memory be made to WildCare, the , Green Sangha and the Marin Economic Forum.
