The Week That Was in Mill Valley: Aug. 29 - Sept. 4

A look back at some of the news in Mill Valley this week.

This week in Mill Valley started out with a profile of artist, Zio Ziegler. As the owner of pop art and clothing shop, Arte Siempre, he's brought a new artistic energy to his hometown, that has included some amazing murals on local buildings.

Our report on the Back to School Schedules updated everyone on the school start and end times so that we could all get back into the school routines of traffic and pedestrians.  The Street Smarts safety program showed how the county is also tackling that issue with a countywide driver awareness program.

Later in the week the bridge district announced that Golden Gate Bridge's western sidewalk is going to reopen early for bicyclists. It's good news for the Mill Valley biking community.

Friday was a busy news day with the report of some arrests on Vernal Way with possible links to several burglaries locally.

There was also a rundown of the activities that we can look forward to over the holiday weekend and beyond, including SoccerFest on Monday and Jane Austen Unscripted next Wednesday and Thursday night.
