Supervisor Susan Adams to Run for Congress

Marin County Board of Supervisors president officially announces she will be running for the seat being vacated by the retiring Rep. Lynn Woolsey.

Supervisor Susan Adams officially announced that she will be seeking to fill retiring Rep. Lynn Woolsey’s seat.

“Northern California is a land of great ideas, energy and natural resources,” said Adams, who represents San Rafael on the Marin County Board of Supervisors. “Let’s bring fresh ideas and new energy to Congress.”

If elected, Adams, who is a registered nurse, hopes to bring her medical experience to the House of Representatives and “keep patients, nurses and doctors in charge of healthcare decisions, not insurance company bureaucrats,” she said. Creating more green jobs and growing the economy are also key points on her platform.

In addition to the Marin County Board of Supervisors, Adams also chairs the Marin Housing Authority, the Marin Transit District, the Disaster Council and the Criminal Justice and Behavioral Health task force.

On June 27, Woolsey  after 10 terms in Congress. Adams will square off with Assemblyman Jared Huffman, from San Rafael, and author/activist Norman Solomon, from West Marin, who announced they will be running for Woolsey’s seat.
