Who Won the Presidential Debate, Obama or Romney?

Tell us who you think won Round 1 and why.

After months of stump speeches and negative ad campaigns, Americans were able to see the two presidential candidates face each other for the first time Wednesday night at the University of Denver.

The first of three debates focused on the economy and domestic policy, which many Americans say is a high priority.

Before the debate, many predicted the victory would go to President Obama.

"President Obama is the most gifted speaker in modern political history," said Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul to ABC in an effort to lower expectations about the Republican candidate's upcoming performance.

Comments like that led President Obama to respond with a milquetoast assessment of his own skills: "Gov. Romney is a good debater. I'm just OK," he said.

Post-debate, many analysts said that Governor Romney had given a solid performance, and that the President had appeared disengaged.

“Romney was able to out-Obama Obama,” said one CNN panelist.

Others, like former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert Reich, criticized Romney for not providing specifics on how he would pay for tax cuts and replace Obamacare.

So tell us in the comments, who do you think gave the better debate performance, and why?

Thanks Eddie. I figured out how to stop getting posts from specific threads. I was trying to help Ricardo and Sharon do what I did, but I guess I wasn't much help. Have a great Sunday!!!

Thank you Carlos for the clear directions. I did what you said and clicked on Stop following, I will see if that worked. I already tried it on the original article and it did not work, but maybe this will. BTW, when clicking on stop following under more stuff , there was no change or indication that I had actually successfully done that, like a change after I clicked to start following again. So, if this does indeed stop following, is their a way to start following again ? Thanks again.

Something is seriously amiss with the order in which messages come in causing problems. But thanks to all about how to get out of the treacle.

Well, that was interesting. I did exactly as Carlos and probably hundreds of others told me to do and I was already logged in. So that wasn't the problemo. Seems it was because I wasn't at the right "place" and only got there thanks again to Carlos. Once I typed in the address/ whatever, I was able to find what everyone was talking about. Wheezers. Thanks all. Please god, let this work.

New question from Carlos: Do you support your candidate unconditionally, or does tonight's debate have the potential to influence your vote? http://napavalley.patch.com/articles/point-blank-obama-vs-romney-round-2-does-it-matter Let's hear it!
