Rep. Jared Huffman Blasts 'Out of Step' GOP on Climate Change

San Rafael congressman headlines environmental forum, saying that as a freshman in a Republican-controlled House of Representatives, he faces a "very tough" task in pushing legislation that addresses climate change.

At a community forum dubbed "What Would Climate Leadership Look Like in Washington?" Rep. Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) blasted the GOP-controlled U.S. House of Representatives, telling a packed house at the Mill Valley Community Center Thursday night that he faces a mountain of an uphill battle with his legislative efforts on climate change.

Huffman headlined a forum that also included Dr. Melanie Fitzpatrick of the Union of Concerned Scientists, Natural Resources Defense Council Senior Scientist Peter Miller, Sustainable San Rafael President Bill Carney and Carleen Cullen, executive director of Kentfield-based Cool the Earth.
