Michael Allen has answered that question ad nauseum, paid the fine and moved on. Ask Levine about his inflated resume, claiming to "develop" software when he was basically a salesman/promoter. Ask him why the Western Growers Association PAC funded by major agribiz, has spent $200,000 trying to defeat Allen because of his legislation protecting farmworkers in the field, (A major "partner" the WGA parent organization is Monsanto, hell bent on defeating Prop. 37). Ask Levine why hedge fund managers and charter school honchos give him big bucks; ask him about the Insurance Companies of America's support. Ask him about unusual "gag" order from his last position, not allowing anyone to talk about what he did, how he left there. Is there a hidden agenda in Levine's campaign? Allen is an open book, he has a public record. No surprises, A history of public service, as a nurse, an environmental lawyer, labor negotiator and Assemblymember. His legislation has helped vulnerable seniors, students in schools, the mentally ill, a liveable wage for workers, and fights passionately for single payer health care. Who has a track record of working for the public good? Who has a sketchy past and a scant public service resume?

Miz Trees, Please don't reward bad behavior on Mr. Allen's behalf. He violated ethics, that is bad news. You seem angry and have an axe to grind. Levine is for local control, something we are losing in Sacramento. Levine is a local native, Allen has been plunked into an apartment in San Rafael to run for this seat. People are really tired of elections being bought. Allen has supported Casinos. Look at his track record. He is being endorsed by the developers of Regional Governance. My wife and I are both voting for Levine. We also do not appreciate Allen's negative hit piece on Levine. Levine will work with all political parties as well he should and Allen per his slanderous mail apparently thinks the Democratic Party is the only way.

Cont...Allen's "open book" is pretty scary.

It's rather unorthodox for Michael Allen to relocate to San Rafael so he could run from Marin County. I don't feel he will represent us because he's not from here -- he's more like a carpet bagger backed by public employee unions. We all want our public employees to receive a fair wage, decent working conditions and a fair pension, but PERS is out of hand with $67 BILLION in losses in 2008-2009 alone and the taxpayers were forced to pay those losses. One of the biggest budget problem California faces are the "unfunded pension obligations" of ALL Calfiornia cities, counties and the state itself, forcing three cities into bankruptcy. This means that when the public employees' union, PERS, loses money on stock market investments, taxpayers are supposed to make up those losses. The taxpayers played no part in those bad investment decisions -- the decisions are all made by the investment committee of PERS. I know of no other pension plan on the planet where the employer (taxpayers) is liable for pension fund losses when they've played no part in those investment decisions. Governor Brown has signed legislation that is hardly more than a drop in the bucket toward correcting public employee pensions as it will supposedly save $80 billion over the next 30 years (compared to the $67 billion PERS lost in 2008-2009 alone and those losses were passed on to Califonria taxpayers). I expect Michael Allen to represent public employee unions -- and not Marin County taxpayers.
