Huffman Names Misseldine 2012 Environmental Hero of the North Bay

Longtime local resident and widow of late Marin County Supervisor Charles McGlashan honored for her "leadership and innovation in addressing environmental stewardship."

For the past four years, longtime Mill Valley resident Carol Misseldine has helped cities and counties throughout California adopt sustainable environmental practices. She’s done so as the director of Green Cities California, a coalition of 13 local governments — including Marin County, Berkeley and San Francisco – that are implementing such practices.

Though she’s gotten plenty of attention over the past 13 months for the , Misseldine is in the news this week for her acclaimed environmental advocacy work.

Assemblyman Jared Huffman named Misseldine as his 2012 "Environmental Hero of the North Bay" for at his fifth annual Environmental Breakfast last Friday in Petaluma. The award honors “leadership and innovation in addressing environmental stewardship.”

Misseldine was nominated for the award by Stuart Moody of Green Sangha, for which Misseldine serves on its advisory board.

“Carol Misseldine has an impressive track record of getting things done by advancing several sustainability initiatives that have made an impact in local governments across the North Bay,” Huffman said in a statement.
