Marin Clean Energy Information Session

MCE is offering an information session to Mill Valley residents on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:30 pm at Mill Valley City Hall, 26 Corte Madera Avenue in Mill Valley.

The information session will provide residents the opportunity to learn more about Marin Clean Energy (MCE), a program to collectively buy renewable power on behalf of Marin County residents, cities and towns.

Under the program, all Marin County residents will be automatically enrolled in the program, or they can choose to opt out and remain with PG&E. The program  presents residents with two options – a “Light Green” option, with 50 percent renewable power, or a “Dark Green” option, with 100 percent renewable power.

MCE will offer electric service to all Marin County customers this July. Every electric customer in Marin will be enrolled in MCE’s Light Green 50 percent renewable energy option unless the customer chooses to opt out.  Customers will receive three notices from MCE prior to their enrollment and these will be delivered in early April, mid-April, and mid-May. Customers who do not opt out will also receive two notices after their enrollment with Marin  Clean Energy in late July and late August. The first two notices will be in the form of a letter and the final three will be in the form of a post card.
