Council Honors Tam Girls Tennis Team

Hawks ended their stellar season by getting to the semifinal round of the Northern California team tennis championships and landing a recording of 29-2, including 26 straight wins.

It takes one of the most remarkable runs in recent sports history to land an honor from outside the sports world.

The Tam High girls tennis team did just that Monday night, garnering a proclamation from the Mill Valley City Council for its historic season, which included a whopping 26 straight wins on its way to a and a after successfully petitioning to move up a division.

The team in the semifinal round of the Norcals on Nov. 19, capping a season that coach Bill Washauer called "just enormous ... we’ve never had a season like this."
