Caltrans Digs into Manzanita Work

Crews will enhance accessibility and replace bus pads, benches, a drinking fountain and the sidewalk along the lot's southern edge.

Users of the Manzanita Park and Ride along Shoreline Hwy at Hwy. 101 will be faced with construction and related changes over the next six weeks as Caltrans launches a project to improve conditions there. The lot features 303 parking spaces, 14 bike lockers and connects drivers to Golden Gate Transit lines.

In the project's first phase, Caltrans crews will replace bus pads, benches and a drinking fountain and revamp the sidewalk along the southern edge of the lot to make it more accessible for the disabled.

Commuters will still be able to park at the lot during the construction period, but there will be a few minor changes. Starting Monday, the lot's Golden Gate Transit bus stop will be relocated from the north to the south side of the lot for two weeks. In mid-July, the northwest portion of the lot will close for three days for resurfacing work.
