VIDEO: High Tides Cause Afternoon Flooding on Shoreline Hwy.

Cars drove through about four inches of water just before entering Tam Valley.

About four inches of water covered the northbound lanes of Shoreline Hwy. around 1:30 p.m., with California Highway Patrol officials saying the flooding was caused by high tides.

"It’s not very normal but if there’s an extrmeley high tide, it can happen," Officer Ron Chastain said.
