Two Arrested After Attempting to Break Into an Occupied Mill Valley Home

Because the homeowner was able to give a good report of the suspect and vehicle license plate, two burglary suspects were arrested in Mill Valley today.

Two men were arrested today after another occupied home was nearly broken into in Mill Valley.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Lovell Avenue at 11:15 am, to report of a suspicious person attempting to get into the home through a window.

The homeowner, who was upstairs at the time, yelled to scare off the suspect, but was reportedly able to get a good description of the suspect, vehicle and license plate.

According to police reports, the suspect was described as a white adult male in his twenties, with tattoos, driving an older white sedan.

Police discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen from San Francisco.

MVPD stopped the vehicle within minutes, as it headed out of the area from downtown on Miller at Reed Ave., occupied by two suspects who were both booked into Marin County Jail.

The driver, Roberto De Trinidad, 27, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, providing false information to a police officer, attempted burglary and possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

The passenger, Willie Matthews Jr., 38, was arrested for receiving known stolen property and possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.
