Trio of Law Enforcement Agencies Tag Team on Bank Robbery Probe

Marin County Sheriff's deputies are working with police in Novato and Twin Cities to track down the suspect in three bank robberies last week, including the Wells Fargo in Strawberry.

Marin County Sheriff's deputies are working with police in Novato and the Twin Cities to track down a young man whose description matches that of a person who robbed the at Pacheco Plaza on March 28 and then, two days later, a Citibank in Greenbrae and a Wells Fargo in the Strawberry shopping center near Mill Valley, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Mark Hale.

"We don't have anything new at all to report except for that the agencies are working together now," said Hale, who echoed what Novato Lt. John McCarthy said earlier Wednesday.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s with bleach blond hair, approx. 5-foot-9 and wearing a yellow plaid baggy shirt, dark sunglasses and a dark colored baseball hat. In the Novato robbery, the man wore a San Francisco Giants cap.

During the Strawberry incident, the last of the three recent thefts, the man gave a note to the teller demanding money and then brandished a handgun when the teller didn't immediately respond. He fled on foot after receiving some cash.

Hale said the agencies will not disclose the amount of cash stolen, but he said no money was taken during the Greenbrae event.
