Jan. 22
8:14 p.m. – Dogs were reported to be barking for three hours in the area of the 200 block of Miller Avenue. Police contacted the dogs’ owner and provided advice.
10:54 p.m. – A driver told police that he had followed a blue Toyota Camry from Hwy. 101 into Mill Valley because he suspected the driver was driving under the influence. The driver was swerving, according to the witness. Police were unable to locate the car.
Jan. 23
4:22 a.m. – A witness spotted a car striking another parked car in the area of Camino Alto and Camino Alto Court and reported it to police, who later contacted the driver. The suspect vehicle was parked in the same lot. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into Marin County Jail.
2:45 p.m. – An employee of Pharmaca at 230 East Blithedale Ave. reported to police that a shoplifter was in the store, having stolen a “translucent bronze concentrate” skin treatment product. The woman was advised by the store manager that she was not welcome back in the store.
Jan. 24
8:53 a.m. – A resident in the area of Elma St. and Lovell Ave. reported a loud noise that sounded like an explosion near Old Mill School. Police were unable to determine the origin of the sound.
10:31 a.m. – San Francisco Police asked Mill Valley Police to take a courtesy report for insurance purposes on behalf of a Molino Ave. resident whose car was broken into in a parking garage in San Francisco between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. Nothing was stolen in the car burglary.
1:39 a.m. – A tenant in the Shelter Bay office complex reported that checks were stolen from the office and someone tried to use them in Southern California. Police took a report. Three of the checks were also cashed in Sonoma County.
7:41 p.m. – A resident of Shelley Dr. reported that two laptops were stolen from his home. The owner went through the home and no one was inside and nothing else appeared out of place.
Jan. 25
12:13 a.m. – A resident of Sunnyside Ave. reported that someone was banging on his door. The subject left in a cab and police contacted the cab and arrested the passenger on suspicion of public drunkenness.
9:21 a.m. – A resident of Sycamore Ave. reported that a neighbor’s dog had been barking for more than an hour. Police went to the dog’s home but the owner was not present.
4:36 p.m. – A woman sweeping the sidewalk in front of her home on Miller Ave. and Millwood St. reported that a silver Porsche recklessly sped past her and almost hit her. Police were unable to locate the silver speeder.
7:59 p.m. – The driver of a Golden Gate Transit bus called police after a male passenger got off near the Boyle Park tennis courts but was too inebriated to walk. The driver told police he was afraid to leave in case the man wandered into traffic. Police arrested the man on suspicion of public drunkenness.
9:25 p.m. – Someone reported a noise disturbance at Tam High as a group of kids were in the parking lot listening to loud music. All of the teens were gone when police arrived, except for one boy and his mom.
11:31 p.m. – A resident of Sycamore Ave. police to report loud music coming from a neighbor’s house, saying he had already gone to the door of the home to ask them to turn it down but no one answered the door. Police went to the home and the owner said he would have the band quiet down.
Jan. 26
1:35 a.m. – A resident of Miller Ave. reported an ongoing problem with construction noise in the 400 block of Miller Ave. in the middle of the night. Police contacted the workers, who didn’t have a permit for any night work and were advised to shut down.
Jan. 27
1:19 p.m. – A $2,000 white Norco mountain bike was reported stolen. The bike had been locked up at the bus stop near the Depot Bookstore & Café.
1:33 p.m. – A resident of Sycamore Ave. reported that his gray Diamondback bike, valued at $200, was stolen from the home between Friday and now.
9:58 a.m. – A patron at the 2am Club reported that his Android Razr cell phone was stolen from the bar, and that he was able to track the location of the phone to the 900 block of South Vernal Ave. in Tam Valley.
