Teens Accused of Indecent Exposure at 7-Eleven in Strawberry

In a series of incidents Sheriff's deputies tied to the unofficial Tam High Scavenger Hunt, a 7-Eleven employee says groups of teens walked into the store, pulled down their pants and began masturbating.

A group of teens were accused of indecent exposure at the 7-Eleven in Strawberry last Friday night in a series of incidents that Marin County Sheriff’s deputies tied to the annual unofficial Tam High Scavenger Hunt.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the store at 650 Redwood Hwy. at 8:45 p.m., with a store employee saying that two separate groups of teens had walked into the store and exposed themselves.

The first incident, according to the report, happened at 5 p.m., when two white males, approximately 15-16 years old, came into the store, pulled their pants down and began masturbating in front of the employee before running out. Two more white male teens did the same thing at around 8:05 p.m., the employee reported.

Around the same time, a group of female teens around the same age came into the store and “flashed” the employee at the doorway and ran out.

Sheriff’s deputies connected the series of incidents to the annual unofficial Tam High Scavenger Hunt, which deputies learned was occurring that night, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Jamie Scardina.

The scavenger hunt was the subject of controversy a year ago when it was initially tied to a graffiti binge throughout Tam Valley and the Sycamore area of Mill Valley, as well as in Almonte and on Throckmorton Avenue, according to Mill Valley Police. Then-Tam High Principal Tom Drescher quickly sought to dispel the ties between the graffiti and the scavenger hunt, and police eventually arrested three teens for the vandalism and said the graffiti was not associated with the scavenger hunt.

No additional incidents were reported after police were called to the 7-Eleven.
