Student Shot With a BB in a Drive-By Attack at Tamalpais High

While playing on the football field during PE, a student was shot by two suspects in a vehicle traveling past Tam High Wednesday morning.

A 14-year old student was shot with a metal “BB” in a drive by at Tam High this morning, according to Mill Valley Police. Two suspects in custody. 

The student was playing on the football field around noon during physical education, when the suspect, riding southbound in a blue BMW suv, reportedly leaned out of the car with what appeared to be a machine gun.

The shooter, described as a black male adult, was located in Marin City by MVPD and Marin County Sheriff’s deputies within minutes.

Demarqus Wiggins, 21, and Sel Butler, 18, are being held on charges that include: possession of a weapon on a school ground, felony battery causing injury, willful discharge of a firearm (BB device), and conspiring to commit a crime. 

Guns matching the description were recovered, both appearing to be real firearms, but only fired “BB” type metal projectiles.

One student victim was taken to Marin General Hospital by ambulance with a moderate injury to his lower body.
