Stolen Bikes, Vandalized Cars, Reckless Drivers and a Smoking Teen

This week's roundup of police activities includes plenty of unlocked everything.

June 18

7:58 a.m. – A black Santa Cruz mountain bike was reported from a home on the 300 block of Hazel Avenue, The bike was not locked. It was valued at $3,500.

8:10 a.m. – A 21-year-old male fell off his bike and hit his head on the ground in the 300 block of Miller Avenue. He wasn’t wearing a helmet and his head was bleeding. There were no cars involved in the incident, and alcohol was not believed to be involved in the solo bike accident.

7:46 p.m. – The daughter of a homeowner on Bigelow Ave. reported to police that she is staying at the house and leaves the backdoor open for the dog and, sometime during the day between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., someone came into the home and ransacked it. It was unclear at the time of the report if anything had been stolen.

June 19

3:09 p.m. – Police received a report of a white male in his late teens or early 20s driving recklessly in a beige SUV, swerving around cars, speeding and running stop signs.

June 20

6:23 a.m. – A Mill Valley Refuse truck driver reported that he was unable to get through the 100 block of Sycamore Ave. because a gray Honda Odyssey was blocking the road. Police cited two vehicles.

4:09 p.m. – A resident of Whittier Court reported that someone opened a credit card in his name and charged $5,000 to it. Someone also attempted to transfer $5,000 from his Bank of America account to a Discovery Card.

June 21

1:28 pm. – A white male in his late teens of early 20s was reported driving recklessly in a brown Honda CRV near East Blithedale Ave. and Lomita Dr., waving a small black case and yelling at other vehicles.

June 22

3:09 p.m. – A grand theft was reported at the Mill Valley Community Center after a bright orange Scott mountain bike was stolen. The bike was not locked.

7:18 p.m. – A resident of the 100 block of Tamalpais Ave. called police to report that she caught her 13-year-old son smoking with his friends.

11:54 p.m. – With her car parked on Buena Vista Ave. while she worked a catering event, a woman came outside to find three young males inside her car. They ran off when they saw her, but they had damaged the car’s center console before fleeing. Nothing was stolen. The car was unlocked.

June 23

1:07 a.m. – Police received a report that approximately 20 people who were possibly intoxicated were outside the 2 a.m. Club, with one playing a trumpet.

11:04 p.m. – A resident of the 200 block of Sycamore Ave. reported seeing four subjects looking into cars up and down the street. The resident said a neighbor’s dog likely scared them off. Police were unable to locate the possible car burglars.

June 24

12:43 a.m. – An allegedly intoxicated white man in his 30s was accused of physically attacking people and then fell down and injured himself. The man was taken to Marin General Hospital.

8:04 a.m. – An employee at Mill Valley Middle School reported that the door of a maintenance office was pried open, though nothing appeared to have been taken and nothing was disturbed.
