Police Recover SUV Stolen from Benicia

An officer on patrol on Redwood Highway at around 3 a.m. spotted a Ford Expedition that had crashed into a parked car just north of Hamilton Drive near the . The car was totaled and unoccupied.

"Obviously, that drew attention," said Officer Eric Sanderson.

The car's license plate and description matched that of a vehicle that had been reported stolen from the 800 block of Wainwright Street in Benicia by a man who was visiting his family in the area.

Several officers searched the area, Sanderson said, but were unable to locate any suspects. No arrests have been made in the case. The car's owner was notified and the car was towed for further investigation.
