Update: Tam Valley Man Commits Suicide in Street

Man was found Tuesday morning in middle of Woodside Ave. with self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

A 71-year-old man was found lying in the middle of Woodside Avenue in Tam Valley with a gunshot wound to the head early Tuesday morning. An autopsy was performed by the Marin County Coroner's Office and confirmed that the gunshot wound was self inflicted.

The man, identified as Carl Arthur Buoncristiani of nearby Tennessee Ave., was found at around 9:30 a.m. by a waste collection worker from Tam Valley Community Services District. The gun, a revolver, was found at the scene. Buoncristiani's wife was at home at the time of the incident, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Southern Marin firefighters were first to arrive on the scene at Woodside Ave. and Pine Hill Rd., but were unable to revive the man. He was later pronounced dead at Marin General Hospital.
