Police Blotter: June 21-27

A resident worries about a weed whacker causing a fire, a fight breaks out at the 2am Club and a wild turkey dodges traffic on East Blithedale. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

June 21

10:10 a.m. – An anonymous resident of Ralston Avenue reported hearing weed whacking in the area and was concerned due to the heat that a fire might start. A police officer checked the area and found that fire department personnel did not need to respond. 

11:04 p.m. – A fight broke out in front of the 2am Club, with one man sustaining cuts and gashes to his face calling. The injured man called police to report that he was assaulted and he was walking west on Miller Avenue. Police contacted the caller, who was bleeding but declined medical attention. Police found the other suspected combatant and arrested but the caller declined to press charges.

June 22

7:12 a.m. – A resident called police with second-hand information that a wild turkey was running up and down the street and in and out of traffic at East Blithedale Avenue and Camino Alto at 7:12 am. Police officers checked the area but were unable to find a turkey.

2:21 p.m. – A resident of Roque Moraes Court reported that sometime between Monday night and yesterday morning, his Yamaha generator was taken from the back of his truck. The generator’s value was estimated at $1,500.

June 23

5:50 p.m. – A resident of Throckmorton Avenue called police to report that a plastic bottle of Downey fabric softener was sitting in front of his house and he found it to be suspicious. The man wanted a police officer to come out and remove it because he didn’t want to touch it.

June 24

1:18 p.m. – A resident of Coronet Avenue told police that she was contacted by Macy’s because someone used a fraudulent name and the last four numbers of her Social Security number to make $3,127 worth of charges to her Macy’s credit card. The woman told police that she had her Macy’s card in her possession but was told that Macy’s allows credit purchases with a photo ID and the last four numbers of Social Security.

June 25

1:08 a.m. – On a routine patrol at the Mill Valley Community Center, an officer a car in the parking lot with a light on inside. The officer made contact with the two juveniles inside the car and reportedly found them in possession of marijuana. Both juveniles were cited for being minors in possession of marijuana and were released to the custody of their parents. 

11:13 p.m. - A resident of Molino Avenue reported that he noticed the door of his deck open and then saw that his Wii, Xbox and Dell laptop were gone. Police advised the man not to touch anything else and are investigating.

June 27

12:23 p.m. – A caller reported to police that a group of teens on a Golden Gate Transit bus near Tam High were screaming, yelling and being obnoxious. The bus driver stopped in front of the school and called his supervisor for advice. A police officer responded and contacted and counseled the unruly juveniles and allowed them back on the bus for the ride home.

9:30 p.m. – A resident of Lovell Avenue called police to request assistance with getting a bat out of her house. An officer responded and 30 minutes later, the bat was still there. The caller said she was tired and wanted to get some sleep. No further assistance was requested and she canceled the requested help from the Marin Humane Society.
