Police Blotter: July 12-18

A roundup of the week's police logs includes an angry postal worker, several thefts and an illuminating neighbor dispute.

Monday, July 12

At 3:44pm, a resident of Eldridge Ave. reported that his daughter had taken checks and forged her father's signature on them.

A resident of Florence Ave. told police at 4:10pm that someone had entered his vehicle sometime between Friday at 7pm and Monday at 7:15am and stolen a Dell laptop computer and several miscellaneous and telecommunications-related items totaling approximately $1,000.

Wednesday, July 14

A construction worker doing some electrical work on Magee Ave. told police at 12:16pm that a postal worker punched and damaged the mirrors on both the driver's side and passenger's side of his car because he was parked in the middle of the road. The worker said that a witness saw the postal worker damage the mirrors.

A resident of E.Blithedale Ave. called police at 10:11pm to report that several people were being loud on the deck outside Tony Tutto's Pizzeria. Police asked the parties to keep the noise down.

Thursday, July 15

A resident of Pimlott Lane reported at 3:56pm that her neighbor had vandalized her property lights by dismantling them. The woman did not want the other party contacted by police, but said that she believes he turns off her lights at night.

Friday, July 16

A woman called police at 3pm to report that her son's bike was stolen from outside Edna Maguire School at 80 Lomita Drive. The bike was not locked.

At 7:17pm, a resident of Escalon Drive reported that someone broke into her car's glove compartment and stole $300 in cash and a checkbook that resulted in a loss of an additional $1,000.

Saturday, July 17

A resident of Pimlott Lane told police at 10:11am that her exit lights had been broken, and that she suspected her neighbor of vandalizing her house. The neighbor denied the claim.

A resident of Summit Ave. called police at 6:04pm to report that two juveniles she didn't know stayed at her home overnight and that she suspected one of them of stealing $42 from her wallet. Police attempted to contact the woman's son to determine the identity of the juveniles, to no avail.

Sunday, July 18

At 12:12am, a man reported that he returned to his white Toyota Tundra pickup truck in the Mill Valley Community Center parking lot to find damage to the back driver's side door and a note that read, "I hit your car with my bike." No other information was provided.

At 10:02am, a driver reported a woman driving a red Corvette into oncoming traffic at high speeds and swerving in and out of lanes on E. Blithedale Ave. and Walnut Avenue. Police did not locate the vehicle.
