Police Blotter: Aug. 31 - Sept. 5

Shenanigans at CVS Pharmacy bookend a week that also included reports of men engaged in various leisurely activities in their cars.

Tuesday, Aug. 31

(Vandalism Graffiti Report) An employee of CVS Pharmacy on E. Blithedale Ave. called police at 7:30am to report that someone tagged graffiti in the men's restroom. The employee was searching surveillance tapes for the suspect and told police the incident may be associated with a subject they removed from the store yesterday. Two unidentified male juveniles were identified as possible suspects, and police will keep a report on file.

(Vandalism Report) Someone reportedly drove their car into a mailbox on Glen Drive at around 10 am, and a neighbor filed a description of the car and driver. The caller reported approximately $800 in damages to his mailbox.

(Suspicious Vehicle) An officer on patrol at W. Blithedale Ave. and Oakdale Ave. at 4:10 pm spotted a man sleeping his silver Jaguar. The man said he was tired after eating a large, late lunch. Police advised the man to move along.

Wednesday, Sept. 1

(Indecent Exposure) Multiple callers reported at 7:15pm that a man without pants was sitting his car and masturbating on the 400 block of Sycamore Avenue. Police responded to the scene and contacted the man, but found no merit to claims of indecent exposure. Police told the man to move along.

Thursday, Sept. 2

A resident of Midhill Drive called police at midnight to report spotting a medium-sized mountain lion at 7 am the day before. Police contacted the Marin Humane Society.

(Grand Theft Report) A woman called police at 11:45am to say that she hid her cell phone in Old Mill Park on Monday before going on a run but found it missing when she returned. The woman valued the phone at $400.

(Public Intoxication) A woman was kicked out of the 2AM Club at 8:15pm and then wandered into the adjacent Joe's Taco Lounge, where a caller said she was under the influence and talking to herself. The caller said the woman followed a couple out of the building and then came back in and then bumped into another customer. Police contacted the woman and arrested her on suspicion of public intoxication. She was booked into Marin County Jail.

Saturday, Sept. 4

Police received a number of separate noise complaints related to construction work going on at homes on Magee Ave., Ralston Ave., and Throckmorton Avenue. Police advised the screws to stop working and go home in the first two cases, but the last complaint was about a homeowner who was doing light repairs, no construction, and police allowed the man to continue.

Sunday, Sept. 5

(Shoplifting) An employee of CVS Pharmacy on E. Blithedale Ave. reported at 10am that two subjects stole high-end shampoos and that they seemed like professional thieves, completely clearing the shelf. The employee said a similar incident occurred several months ago in which $3,000 worth of shampoo was stolen. The subjects were caught on the store's surveillance video. Police kept a report on file.
