Police Blotter: Aug. 3-9

Burglaries, vandalism, loud youths and smoking waffle maker highlight the week that was for the police department.

Tuesday, Aug. 3

(Suspicious Circumstance) Vasco Court at 5:00 am. Caller says alarm just went off but nothing suspicious was seen or heard. Caller is in her bedroom with her daughter and dog in a bedroom on the second floor. Caller wants an officer walk through. Officer checked interior and all clear. Advised caller to contact her alarm company to see if system is working properly.

(Petty Theft Report) Public Safety Building at 5:20 pm. Resident is at the station to report a stolen credit card at Safeway on July 31st. Card was used in San Francisco and he would like a report. Report on file.

(Miscellaneous Code Violation) Hauke Park at 7:00 pm. Caller reports several juveniles playing soccer at the park but signs say "field closed" and caller thinks they are harming the grass. Officers moved along a large group of approximately 40 players.

Wednesday, Aug. 4

(Advice to Citizen) Fern Canyon Road at 11:00 am. Caller believes he is a victim of fraud on Craigslist. Caller advised to contact seller and will contact police with further information if tickets are not received.

(Fraud Report) Hillcrest Road at 3:00 pm. Caller has received reports from several stores and American Express that credit cards have been opened in his name with immediate activity. No suspect information. Report on file.

Thursday, Aug. 5

(Vandalism Report) Jolly King Liquors on Miller Ave. at 9:30 am. Caller reports his car being keyed four weeks ago and would like a report. No suspect information. Report on file.

(Burglary Report) Hillcrest Road at 1:00 pm. Caller states that $3,000 worth of tools stolen from job site sometime overnight. Tools were locked in a room in the house being renovated. Report on file.

(Party Complaint) Camino Alto Court & Dead End at 10:00 pm. Caller states there is a large juvenile party and is concerned that there is smoking going on that could cause a fire. Officers contacted group and determined that it was an adult running club, not a party. Group packs it up.

Friday, Aug. 6

(Penal Code Violation) Shelley Drive at 2:45 am. Caller states there are couple of people arguing, possibly are drunk, in front of his house. Just heard yelling: "the cops are coming". Now there are six subjects outside. Officers arrive and charge two subjects with public drunkenness and resisting arrest. Subjects booked at Marin County Jail. Report on file.

(Assist Fire) Acqua Hotel at 9:15 am. Employee called to report 2nd floor smoke in the breakfast area. Fire and police respond. Waffle maker is smoking.

(Burglary Report) Camino Alto at noon. Caller reports sometime overnight his business was burglarized. Window smash and printer, stereo and products were taken. Doesn't want police to investigate crime as it would "disrupt his clients."

(Suspicious Circumstance) Florence Avenue at 7:30 pm. Caller states someone went through her unlocked vehicle sometime overnight. Nothing was taken but this is becoming a problem on her street and she believes her vehicle was gone through last week as well. Advice given.

Saturday, Aug. 7

(Suspicious Person) E. Blithedale Avenue at the bus stop at 1:30 pm. Caller saw a bunch of clothes left at the bus shelter and saw a male subject stuffing something into a hedge near the bus stop. Officer checked area on foot and located nothing in the area.

(Advice to Citizen) Alta Vista Avenue at 1:45 pm. Caller wants advice regarding carrying pepper spray in the city limits. Officer provided advice.

(Party Complaint) 100 block of Miller Avenue at 9:00 pm. Caller reports a loud party with loud music and caller can hear lots of screaming going on for two hours. Officers arrive as music is turned down. Officers advise resident of second noise complaint.

Sunday, Aug. 8

(Animal Incident or Violation) Eucalyptus Knolls at 4:00 am. Resident found a dog running in the street and has been barking for the past few hours so he brought the dog to the station. Officer notified Marin Humane Society and a message was left at dog owner's residence as they didn't answer phone or door.

(Suspicious Circumstance) 600 block of E. Blithedale Avenue at noon. Business owner reports his front glass door is shattered and you can walk right in. Owner checked for other problems, no loss, apparent vandalism. Report on file.

(Grand Theft Report) Circle Avenue at 3:00 pm. Caller reports a watch, leatherman, maglite flashlight and a Navajo carpet were taken from his unlocked vehicle sometime overnight. Report on file.

(Petty Theft Report) Coronet Avenue at 9:15 pm. Caller reports sometime overnight both of her unlocked vehicles were entered and cell phone charger cords and an iPhone were taken. Report on file.

Monday, August 9

(Found Property) Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce at 10:00 am. Caller reports a bicycle and a razor scooter have been left in front outside for about 2 weeks and wants them picked up. Officer picked up items and booked at station for safekeeping.

(Advice to Citizen) 400 block of E. Blithedale Avenue at 2:00 pm. Caller states a subject was walking through her street looking for her husband. Subject stated to a neighbor that he was with U.S. Census Bureau but caller thinks he is a private investigator and she wants to know what to do. Officer responded that census workers are still out but will try to contact subject for caller tomorrow.

(Penal Code Violation) 100 block of E. Blithedale Avenue at 4:15 pm. Caller states her bookkeeper took confidential information and gave it to a client and wants an embezzlement report. Report on file.
