Person Drowns at McClures Beach in West Marin

Body was recovered near Elephant Rock, according to the Marin County Fire Department.

A body was pulled from the water at a Point Reyes beach on Saturday, according to the Marin County Fire Department.

The department initially received a report of a man in the water near McClures Beach at about 2:30 p.m., said Battalion Chief Mike Giannini. The report indicated the subject might have been fishing in the area.

About an hour later, a National Park Service ranger saw a body floating in the water near Elephant Rock. The ranger lost sight of the body for a while, but it was later found and recovered, Giannini said.
