A body was pulled from the water at a Point Reyes beach on Saturday, according to the Marin County Fire Department.
The department initially received a report of a man in the water near McClures Beach at about 2:30 p.m., said Battalion Chief Mike Giannini. The report indicated the subject might have been fishing in the area.
About an hour later, a National Park Service ranger saw a body floating in the water near Elephant Rock. The ranger lost sight of the body for a while, but it was later found and recovered, Giannini said.
The circumstances surrounding how the subject ended up in the water are unclear at this point, and details of the subject's identity, including the gender, could not be confirmed, Giannini said.
