Noisy Hot Tubbers, Someone Sleeping in the Bushes and Punctured Car Tires

The Central Marin Police Authority responded to calls Feb. 14-18 that included two public intoxication arrests.


Monday, Feb. 18

Vandalism: 9:01 a.m. Forbes Avenue. Resident reported on Thursday, Feb. 7, around 10 a.m., the right rear tire of his Toyota was vandalized. On his second vehicle, the right rear tire was also damaged sometime between Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. Both vehicles were parked in the driveway and someone punctured the tires with nails. RP does not wish contact he just wanted the incident documented and requested extra patrol.

Water leak: 10 a.m. Memorial Park on Veterans Place. Citizen advised there was standing water in the grass and water flowing water into the Log Cabin parking lot due to sprinklers and a water leak. San Anselmo’s Department of Public Works was advised via email. Unit advised one sprinkler head by the picnic bench was broken.

Commercial burglary: 11:15 a.m. San Anselmo Avenue. The business reported someone entered by the back door between 5 p.m. on Feb. 17 and 11 a.m. on Feb. 18. Taken was cash in the banking envelope and gold jewelry. The RP was contacted and a report was taken.

Found bike: 2:59 p.m. Yolanda Drive. Resident reported a black Trek bicycle abandoned in front the residence. Bike was picked up and stored at the station.


Sunday, Feb. 17 

Juvenile problem: 9:26 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. RP reported a large group of juveniles were loitering in the parking lot with their vehicles. Officer contacted seven subjects and they were abated. A juvenile was released to his parent.  

Public intoxication: 9:46 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Officer located a male subject passed out in the bushes. The subject was arrested and booked into Marin County Jail for public intoxication and for violating his probation.


Saturday, Feb. 16 

Suspicious circumstances: 3:13 a.m. Spaulding Avenue. RP reported she could hear three subjects on the hillside behind the address. Officers responded and contacted three subjects who worked in a nearby business. The owner was advised of the complaint and would bring everyone inside. While on scene, the RP called back again stating someone was looking into her backyard. Officers stated it was most likely them, while searching for the subjects. RP was contacted via phone and was provided advice. RP called back and stated the subjects were back. Officers responded, but no one was found in the area and it was very quiet.

Suspicious person: 2:13 p.m. The Hub on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. RP reported a male subject standing on the bridge and watching people. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the subject.

Public intoxication: 7:43 p.m. Florence Avenue. RP reported a male subject was sleeping outside of his front gate. Officers responded and contacted the RP and the subject, who was intoxicated and was booked into Marin County Jail for public intoxication and for violation of probation.

Noise complaint: 10:52 a.m. San Anselmo Avenue. RP reported loud subjects in a hot tub. Officers responded and contacted the responsible, who was advised of the complaint and brought everyone inside.


Friday, Feb. 15 

Vandalism: 11:57 a.m. Indian Rock Road. RP reported a neighbor left her a note saying he heard her garbage cans crashing down the hill at 2 a.m. The neighbor cleaned up the mess. One of the cans was not serviceable any longer. RP will be notifying the garbage collection company. Extra patrol was requested.

Animal complaint: 1:13 p.m. Scenic Avenue. RP reported two dogs cornered him in the bed of his pickup. PD and humane responded. The owner of the dogs was located and contained his dogs. Humane will be handling any further action.

Aggressive vehicle: 4:40 p.m. Tunstead Avenue and San Anselmo Avenue. RP reported a vehicle was aggressive towards a bicyclist. It swerved and forced him to brake hard to avoid hitting the parked vehicles in front of him. Officer made contact with the RP and left a message with the owner of the vehicle and would do further follow up.

Juvenile problem: 7:14 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. RP reported a group of subjects were in the parking lot and were playing loud music. Officer responded and abated the group.

Juvenile party: 10 p.m. The Alameda Knolls. RP reported a large juvenile party at the residence. Officers responded and contacted the juvenile resident. Her guests were abated and were picked up by parents or drove themselves home. A family member responded and took control of the household.


Thursday, Feb. 14

Found bike: 12:49 p.m. Red Hill Avenue. RP reported a found bicycle. Officer took possession of it and the bicycle was taken as found property.

Vehicle complaint: 6:27 p.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and Broadmoor Avenue. RP reported she witnessed a hit-and-run collision. The suspect vehicle left the area. Officer responded and checked the area for either involved party with negative results. Information was documented in the case an involved party contacts the PD.
